  • How long should I leave Lice Ice on the hair?
    • Leave Lice Ice on for at least 15 hours. Thick long hair will require the full amount of time to dry and effectively release the nits.
  • Can I tie my hair back into a ponytail or a bun, or cover with a shower cap?
    • Lice Ice must be allowed to air dry, freely. DO NOT cover hair. DO NOT put into a ponytail or a bun. Once the gel had dried for a couple of hours, it should no longer be tacky.
  • Should I use a lice Shampoo when washing out the Lice Ice?
    • DO NOT USE A LICE SHAMPOO! Use a regular shampoo. Lice Ice is based in a hair styling product, so it should not dry out the hair.
  • How young can my child be to use Lice Ice on them?
    • Children under 2 years old have a tendency for a lot of hand to mouth contact. We recommend manual removal for any child under 2 years old, or consult your physician before using Lice Ice or any head lice treatment.
  • How can Lice Ice be used as a guard against head lice re-infestation?
    • Cleaning of the living environment is essential to prevent re-infestation. To use Lice Ice as a guard against re-infestation, dilute Lice Ice 1 part gel to 4 parts water, mix and apply with a spray bottle to wet or dry hair. Lice Ice can also be used straight out of the tube in place of your daily styling gel.
  • How often can I use Lice Ice?
    • Use Lice Ice as often as re-infestation occurs, or everyday as a preventative. It may be especially beneficial to use Lice Ice as a preventative for the hatch period, which is 7-10 days directly following a successful treatment. It is not necessary to wait in-between applications.
  • How do I know I have lice?
    • If you have itchy scalp, you should have someone check your head for lice. Also you may lay a white towel on your shoulders and comb or brush your hair to see if any head lice fall out.

    • Absolutely, You MUST apply Lice Ice to dry hair.

    • Lice Ice will not work if you apply it to wet hair. The hair must be dry.

    • Nothing “kills” an egg. It must be removed, or it will hatch in 7 to 10 days. Lice Ice helps to remove the natural glue substance the eggs are attached with. Washing vigorously with your fingers will help to wash the eggs out of the hair.

    • Lice Ice must be left on the hair for at least 15 hours or overnight. Lice Ice must dry completely to the scalp or it will not work properly.

    • Yes, if Lice Ice is left on the hair to dry completely, most if not all the nits will wash out as well as the lice when the hair is shampooed. Any nits left in the hair should not be attached and should flick out with your finger. Lice Ice has a special blend of essential oils and extracts that help to release the natural glue substance that hold the nits in place.
